About Me

Hi! I am Amelia Benjamin

Thank you for taking the time to visit my portfolio and learn more about me. I am a senior at Blue Valley North High School in Overland Park, Kansas and am a proud Mustang. I am involved in my school and community in a number of activities. I have been playing piano since I was 5, guitar since I was 9, and singing since I can remember. My parents say that at the age of two I knew every word to the song "She Will Be Loved" by Maroon 5 and sang it loudly from the back seat of the car everyday.

I believe that everyone has a gift and it is important to use those gifts to help others in our community. Everything we do can make a difference- big or small. I have chosen music as the way I can make a difference by starting my service organization Music Making Memories in 2016. Interesting Facts

Because of my heritage, I love to travel- especially to Italy & Greece;
I have relatives in Athens, Greece;
In 2015, I spent over a week in a children's hospital as a patient and know the challenges of working hard to recover.
I once ate Italian food that was so delicious, it made me cry.
I also ate part of ghost pepper and it had the same response, for a different reason.
I was recruited to audition for American Idol three times!
